This association represents contractors and subcontractors involved in geotechnical construction across Ontario. Members specialize in all aspects of geotechnical work from deep foundations to shoring, underpinning, and marine construction, and have design/build capabilities. Many of these firms are also active in international associations that focus on various geotechnical techniques.
The primary goals of the association are to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in the industry, promote best practices, and ensure safe working conditions. By providing a collective voice for its members, the association works to influence decision-makers, optimizing contract conditions and specifications.
The association is also deeply committed to jobsite safety, working on the development of safe practices and training programs. OAFS employs Union workers, with trades employed being Operating Engineers and Labourers. The association is respectful of the superior capabilities of union employers and works toward harmonious relationships.
Committed to ensuring that industry has the necessary workforce, the association actively promotes the entry of qualified personnel into industry by sponsoring scholarships at educational institutions across Ontario.
