December 01, 2015 - Ministers, industry leaders attend RCCAO-sponsored research launch

RCCAO and the Ontario Construction Secretariat (OCS) hosted a panel discussion involving some of Ontario's keenest minds in infrastructure on Dec. 1, 2015. Three Ontario ministers were in attendance along among the 100 industry leaders and academics who filled the room at the University of Toronto's Hart House as the key findings of ground-breaking independent research report by the Canadian Centre for Economic Analysis (CANCEA) was revealed. The report, called "Investing in Ontario's Public Infrastructure: A Prosperity at Risk Perspective," uses a big data/big analytics approach to assess infrastructure impacts. It also shows a $1-billion investment in public infrastructure supports 85,000 job-years in Ontario over the next 30 years. RCCAO and OCS financed the independent research report. October 07, 2015 - RCCAO celebrates 10 years of advocacy for infrastructure

More than 90 esteemed guests gathered for the 10th anniversary of the Residential and Civil Construction Alliance of Ontario (RCCAO) in Toronto's rustic Distillery District. RCCAO was founded in 2005 as an alliance between labour and management groups to advocate for investment in infrastructure. Attending the event at Tappo restaurant were many executives from the construction industry as well as special guests such as the Honourable Ted McMeekin, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and Toronto Deputy Mayor Denzil Minnan-Wong. The Minister joined RCCAO chairman Phil Rubinoff and executive director Andy Manahan in commemorating RCCAO's efforts over the past decade.

February 24, 2015 - SOiiL at OGRA/ROMA Conference. #healthysoils

The Residential and Civil Construction Alliance of Ontario (RCCAO) hosted a "Soils Room" at the OGRA/ROMA combined conference to foster a dialogue about managing excess construction soils on Feb. 24. The event was held at the Royal York Hotel. Ontario politicians, including Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle and many municipal mayors and councillors, had an opportunity to discuss possible solutions, including implementation of the BMP guide. RCCAO executive director Andy Manahan said the event was a success. A draw was held for a toy dumptruck and two RCCAO caps. The winners were: Lynn Campbell, Ward 5 Councillor, Township of Brock (truck); Jeff Agar, Councillor, Mooretown; and Alan Barfoot, Mayor, Township of Georgian Bluffs. Congrats to our winners and thanks to all for joining the discussion.
